This past week was my birthday week (Kristen and I like to celebrate a whole week for our birthdays). We both wanted to visit Washington DC and check out the sights, so that’s what we did. We got there Friday night and I couldn’t believe it, it was awesome! I’ve never been to DC before so it was really nice to visit the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, World War II Memorial, National Cathedral, and the House of the Temple. I also just finished reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown a few months before this trip so I was really excited to some of the things mentioned in the book. We visited most of the sights at night. One reason was to dodge the day crowds. Two, because they are spectacular sights to see at night.
Both of us at the Lincoln Memorial and Kristen at Ford’s Theatre
One of the churches near our hotel, and the Washington Monument at night
Kristen at the Capitol Building, and a statue in front of the Library of Congress
Lincoln Memorial and National World War II Memorial
National World War II Memorial
Tattoo Bar, we stumbled on this bar as we were walking back to our hotel
View from our room at night

Apotheosis of George Washington painted in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building
House of the Temple
I also can’t forget some of my Cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory that Kristen surprised me with for my birthday!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake
Red Velvet Cheesecake
Tiramisu Cheesecake
Sirloin Kabobs we had for dinner
I seriously have an awesome wife! I can’t thank her enough for everything she does for me and continues to do. I love you!![]()
